2010
Saturday
March 6th
Come join us for a fun filled afternoon,
Exploring some of the best Beer Bars in Rochester and WNY.
After a nice buffet lunch and a pint of beer at Coles,
We will start rolling around 1:00 pm. It is a long trip to Rochester and so as to not have you die of thirst our first stop will be O'Lacy's Pub in Batavia. This Authentic Irish Pub should break up the ride nicely. McGregor's Grill and Tap Room is our first stop in Rochester. They refer to themselves as "A Beer Lovers Paradise" and certainly have a beer list to back up that claim.

Our next stop will be JB Quimby's Public House This is what they boast: "One of New York's best bars. A bar for the rest of us, located in Rochester, We are that home away from home you have been looking for. We treat you like you were part of the family (good or bad you decide). We have low drink prices, so low its like getting free drinks! We are an honest, all American Bar in the beautiful Rochester, NY area. Our goals are simple; serve good drinks, good food all at reasonable prices. "
Beers of the World
Has approximately 1,100 different beers available from over 40 different countries as well as over 20 different states in the United States. They have quite a selection of vintage ales, beer glasses of various styles, beer paraphernalia, gluten-free beer, hard cider and specialty sodas. We will stop here for a brief beer shopping experience.

Next, we move on to The Tap & Mallet. Owner Joe McBane is originally from England and he believes that having the best beer requires a balance between freshness and selection. He choses to limit his draft lines to 30 with the addition of 1 cask ale so that a fresh glass of beer can be guaranteed every time.

Now on to The Old Toad, an authentic British Pub. The staff, the food, the ales, everything here is purely authentic. Even the bar itself was imported from Great Britain. Truly “a pub from over there, over here”. Coles already has a relationship with the owner, as we visited his other establishment in Sheffield, England this past September, "The Fat Cat".

If time permits, our last stop will be the Rohrbach Brewing Co. If the windows are fogged up they are more than likely brewing and thier Scotch Ale is very highly regarded.
